Bill White, LCSW received his BA in Psychology from LSU and his MSSW from the University of Tennessee.
Mr. White was originally trained in EMDR Part 1 in March 1996 by Dr. Gerald Puk. Mr. White went on to complete his part two training in September 1996 under Dr. Francine Shapiro. Mr. White has 29 years of experience in utilizing EMDR therapy. He was also on the faculty of the EMDR institute from 1999 through 2013.
In addition, he also served on the faculty for the humanitarian assistance program (HAP) for about five years. He has been teaching EMDR therapy privately since 2014. He is a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). In the years he has taught he has taught clinicians at clinics as well as individuals. Many of his students have gone on to complete certification in EMDR in addition to completing the basic training. He has taught clinicians at Trillium Mental Health Services in Oregon, Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home, Agape West Texas, Covenant House New Orleans, New York, and Houston.
He also has training from and is member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) where he had completed training in Complex PTSD and Dissociation in Children and Adolescence. He also completed courses in Complex PTSD and Dissociation in adults. Overall, Mr. White has 35 years of experience in treating complex presentations of PTSD and dissociation as well as personality disorders. The part 2 EMDR course he has written reflects this training and that emphasis.

Mrs. Catrett has 20 years of experience treating adults with complex PTSD and dissociative disorders. She completed Mr. White’s basic training in 2015 and has seven years of experience working as a facilitator for EMDR Instruction. She facilitates the basic training’s practicum and assists with demonstrating the protocols covered in the lecture. She is a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).
Mrs. Catrett has completed ISSTD’s introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses on the diagnosis and treatment of complex PTSD and dissociative adaptations throughout the life cycle. Mrs. Catrett provides consultation to clinicians completing basic training and candidates seeking the Certified Therapist or Approved Consultant credentials. In addition to teaching basic trainings, Mrs. Catrett and Mr. White offer a two-day course, Introduction to Trauma: Diagnosis and Treatment, for licensed mental health professionals seeking foundational knowledge and updated information about diagnosing and treating trauma related disorders.
